The Defence & Industry e-Portal
The ePortal
supports the Defence Strategic Reform Program (SRP) by providing the
basis of a cost effective, two way, e-business service delivery channel
for defence industry to access information on DMO Projects, Priority
Industry Capabilities, the Skilling Australia’s Defence Industry (SADI),
the Defence White Paper 2009, Defending Australia in the Asia Pacific
Century: Force 2030 and the public Defence Capability Plan 2009.
The Bulletin Board feature of the
ePortal is increasingly being used to advertise forthcoming industry
briefings, and to reach out to potential new market entrants. This in
turn increases competition by broadening the potential supplier base, and
delivering enhanced value for money in procurement.

Finance &
Business Liaison
The Finance & Business Liaison section represents and
provides support to the Defence CFO and DMO CFO organisations, and Defence
Business management interests more broadly in North
America. The section provides support and financial services
for the CONDMAT branch.
Commercial Finance
Section
Invoices for commercial purchase orders raised by the CONDMAT
branch are handled by the Commercial Finance Section, which falls under the
portfolio of the Director Finance, Business Liaison (DFBL). Invoices for
purchases made by the Commercial Contracting section should be sent to invoice.was@defence.gov.au

FMS Finance Section
The FMS Finance Section manages the country level financial
aspects of the FMS program. This section liaises with USDoD agencies on FMS
policy and financial issues, and leads the FMS Financial Management Review
(FMR) process including the provision of quarterly payment recommendations
for major FMS cases
Duties also include management of the FMS account held with
the New York Federal Reserve Bank, and maintaining the financial data in
the FMS Case Management System operated by CONDMAT branch.
Information
Technology
The Director Finance, Business Liaison oversees the
Information Technology activity within the CONDMAT branch. Sophisticated
software systems have been developed to manage the supply-chain and Foreign
Military Sales operations in North America and Europe.
Our custom-developed supply-chain system interfaces with the SAP-based
procurement system provided by the DMO, the US Customs' export system (AES)
and other systems necessary for the export and import of freight between
the regions. Our custom-developed Foreign Military Sales case-management
system provides all the necessary tools to manage the FMS program in North America, and provide visibility of this, and
also powerful data-extraction and financial analysis capabilities, to the
DMO.
